Saint Corgi Renaissance Dog Candle
I was born under a blood-red moon in 1486, behind the wine barrels of a tavern in Lombardy. My mother called me Lorenzo. The streets called me “Little Fang.” I was a Corgi born into a pack of pickpockets, coin-sniffers, and bone-smugglers. While other pups chased butterflies, I was trained to distract merchants and flee with sausages twice my size.
But even as I darted through alleyways, I longed for more than loot. I dreamed of chapel bells, of quiet gardens, of a clean collar and a name spoken with love—not fear. I’d pause during heists to admire stained-glass windows or sniff the pages of dropped psalms.
My brothers laughed. My tail still wagged. One day, I slipped away—left behind the shadows and found a home in a monastery. I fetch scrolls now, not silver. I chase wisdom, not wagons.
I may have been born in crime—but I chose grace.
