Saint Chihuahua Renaissance Dog Candle
I am Isadora, a Chihuahua born in the year 1493 within the stone walls of Córdoba, wrapped in silk and suspicion. My body is small, but my nerves—immense. From birth, I trembled—not with chill, but with care, with caution, with feeling.
They mistook my shivers for arrogance. “She’s aloof,” they said. “She’s cold, a bitch perhaps.” But oh, how wrong they were. I felt everything. The creak of a chamber door, the rustle of a scholar’s robe, the sadness behind a song—I carried them all beneath my tiny ribs.
I flinched not out of fear, but foresight. I barked not to scold, but to warn. I curled close, not distant, but devoted.
Though poets and painters preferred hounds of stoic stillness, I became a confidant of queens—quiet, trembling, ever near.
In my shaking was love. In my stillness, truth. I was not cold—I was candlelight in a storm.
Tall white candle, hand poured in Mexico, design and assembled in the USA. Candle is unscented. Chihuahua dog, Renaissance-style art prayer candle.
